I was blown away at the results from each of these DIY cleaners! I already had most of the items to make these cleaners in my home. I just had to purchase some essential oils, I know there are some best of the best essential oils out there but to be honest, they cost an arm and a leg (at least for me) For this stay at home mama, I needed something a bit more affordable. I went to Marshalls because I remember I had seen some essential oils and supplies there during Christmas time. Fortunately, they did have some essential oils packs for $10 and they were exactly the oils that I needed to make all these cleaners. If you're on the fence about making these cleaners because of the essential oils- to be honest, I think you can omit that part in each of these cleaners. I think they just add a pleasant smell and provide good aromatherapy while cleaning. Try it!
1. Dusting Spray
This dusting spray is AMAZING! I thought it was going to be a total flop and to be honest, I didn't know about adding olive oil into a cleaner (like why?) but it works! Most of the time when you're dusting (at least for me) I notice that as I'm dusting, the dust just flies away to another spot! Well, this dusting spray helps with keeping the dust settled to wipe away in one wipe and best of all it does not leave a sticky finish.
Ingredients:
1/2 cups of white vinegar
1/4 cups of olive oil
30 drops of any citrus essential oil (lemon or orange)
1 cup of distilled water (boiled)
Instructions: make sure to shake well before every use, use a paper towel or microfiber cloth from the Dollar Tree to wipe surface clean.
2. Deep Clean Shower Cleaner
This stuff helps get those hard water stains, soap scum & grime off of the shower! I did a light scrub to my shower tiles just to really get the hard water stains off.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of dawn ultra (I got mine at Dollar Tree)
1/2 Vinegar
7 drops of each essential oils (lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, peppermint)
3. Carpet Cleaner
This cleaner is something I didn't know I needed! It leaves the carpet smelling so good and clean!
Ingredients:
15 drops of essential oils
1 cup of baking soda
Instructions: Mix ingredients together and pour into a salt shaker type container (I got a salt shaker from the Dollar Tree. Let mixture sit in the container for 20 minutes before use. Sprinkle to carpet and let it sit for 20 minutes, then, vacuum!
4. Natural Degreaser
2 cups of warm water
15 drops of sweet orange essential oil
2 tsp dawn dish soap
Instructions: Spray on greasy surfaces, let it sit for 1-2 minutes before wiping away with a paper towel or microfiber cloth from the Dollar Tree. I wipe away with a paper towel first and go back with the microfiber cloth to polish the surface.
5. Glass stove top cleaner
An oldie but goodie!
Ingredients:
white vinegar
baking soda
abrasive sponge
Instructions: mix all ingredients onto your glass stove top and with a little elbow grease, scrub away the baked grease scum.
6. Dishwasher Cleaner
Ingredients:
Vinegar
Baking Soda
20 drops of essential oils
Instructions: add all ingredients inside the dishwasher. Run a light cycle and use heat to dry. Use an abrasive sponge on tough areas. If scum persists, use the natural degreaser. Spray, allow to sit for 1-2 minutes before wiping away with a paper towel.
7. Furniture Cleaner
This stuff is legit good! I used it on my microfiber suede couch and it worked perfectly!
Ingredients:
1/2 cups of Dawn Dish Soap
1 cup of Hydrogen peroxide
Instructions: Make sure to test a small area that is not noticeable to ensure the solutions will not ruin your furniture. Spray solution, scrub with a towel or microfiber cloth. Allow to air dry.
8. Glass Cleaner
This stuff is totally the same, if not better than the store bought glass cleaners!
Ingredients:
1 cup of rubbing alcohol
1 cup of water
1 tbsp vinegar
Instructions: Spray and clean with a paper towel.
